Pose Estimation

Tracking of tools and surgical activity is becoming more and more important in the context of computer assisted surgery. Pose estimation operates by finding key points of a person or object. Taking a person, for example, the key points would be joints like the elbow, knees, wrists, etc. There are two types of pose estimation: multi-pose and single pose. Pose estimation is the task of using an ML model to estimate the pose of a person from an image or a video by estimating the spatial locations of key body joints (keypoints). Pose estimation is a computer vision technique that predicts and tracks the location of a person or object. This is done by looking at a combination of the pose and the orientation of a given person/object.

Object Detection

Object detection is an important computer vision task used to detect instances of visual objects of certain classes (for example, humans, animals, cars, or buildings) in digital images such as photos or video frames. Given an image or a video stream, an object detection model can identify which of a known set of objects might be present and provide information about their positions within the image. Instance segmentation is a technique in computer vision that is used in object detection using image segmentation method. It identifies each instance of the objects present in the images or videos at the pixel level. Classification. Probably the most well-known problem in computer vision. It consists of classifying an image into one of many different categories. … In recent years classification models have surpassed human performance and it has been considered practically solved.
